The Drawing Room

Patricia Karvelas - host of the Drawing Room
On Australian Radio National, each evening, the Drive program ends with a 15 minute chat in the Drawing Room. The host, Patricia Karvelas, has conversation with one or two interesting guests.

Tomorrow, 9th June at 7:15pm, the two people will be myself and Claire Dunn. Claire's  thing is Rewilding which, broadly speaking, is bringing people and wild places back together again. Her website will tell you a lot more.

What brings us together is shinrin-yoku, Japanese for forest bathing, which in turn is talking about the important connection between human health and nature.

In more academic circles this is referred to as Connection With Nature or CWN. There is a growing body of research in this field but Parks Victoria were way ahead of the game when 8 years ago they launched Healthy Parks Healthy People.

My story will be about about how the TrailRider enables disabled folk to get in on the act.
